Volunteers Needed to Clean Up Ponchatoula Creek!

The first annual “Clean the Creek” for the Ponchatoula Creek will be held Saturday, April 5. The event is beingLouisiana Litter Hunters.
They are looking for volunteers that own boats to come out and help pick up litter that is devouring the creek. Info from organizer is below:
The amount of trash and litter in the creek is really getting out of hand and it is up to us, the citizens to get her back into shape.
Lake Ponchatrain Basin Foundation will have representatives there to assist in the clean up, and are providing the trash bags. Tangipahoa Parish government is providing us with a dump truck/ dumpster for the trash removal once it reaches the river landing.
Non- boat owners are also invited to come out and help. They will be shuttled to the river bank by those with boats. Volunteers should meet at the Wadesboro Rd. boat landing Saturday, April 5th at 8am. The clean up will last all day.
