Tickfaw State Park Annual Art Contest

Tickfaw State Park Annual Art Contest

Tickfaw State Park invites all students, Kindergarten – 12th grade from Livingston, Tangipahoa, Asscension, St. Tammany, and East Baton Rouge Parishes to participate in its annual Art Contest.

Artwork of any medium on any color of unlined paper up to size 12” X 18” will be accepted. The subject must include some degree of Louisiana nature or history, including: animals, trees, landscapes, people, or events. The artwork may be mounted or matted. Its presentation, however, will not be counted towards judging. Judging will be based upon the artist’s creativity, originality, and overall ability in respect to his/her age group.

Winners will be chosen from the following age groups: K-1, 2-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12. If too few entries are entered in a specific age group, prizes may not be awarded.

Teachers: Please limit entries to what you feel are the top 10-20 submissions in each age group.

The winning entries, as well as any other chosen artworks, will be displayed indefinitely in the Nature Center at Tickfaw State Park.

All entries become permanent property of Tickfaw State Park. If you must have an entry back, please do not enter it in the contest.

Each entry should be submitted by April 18, 2014.

They can be mailed or delivered to:
Tickfaw State Park Nature Center
27225 Patterson Rd
Springfield, LA 70462

Each entry should include the artist’s name, school name, email address, fax number, grade, teacher’s name, year, and T-shirt size (Youth XS- Adult XL) on the lower right hand corner on the back of the artwork. If multiple entries are mailed as a single package from a school, please include teacher contact information.
