Hammond’s youth theatre group The Octavians will be offering regular weekly workshops in 2016.
The group is partnering with SLU’s Alpha Psi Omega fraternity, a theater organization, to offer weekly workshops and specialty workshops as well as continue the Troupe de Tour group. New offerings include workshops like sewing, mask making and costume design.

-9 am to 1 pm each day. Create your own design from recyclable materials and cast off clothing. Ages 8-12. Fee of $25 includes materials, and you are welcome to bring your own materials as well. Classes limited to 15 students. Instructor: Anna Pfeil
Acting NYC Style
Friday, Jan. 15 and Monday, Jan. 18 from 8 am to 3:15 pm each day, with optional late pick up until 5:15 pm.
Participants will learn acting for stage and screen, featuring new skills games and fun for all. Brief showcase at the end of each day. Register for both or just one.
Ages 7-15. Fee of $35 includes 2 snacks. Late pick up is an additional $15 per day. Class limited to 20 students. Students should bring lunch.

Serious & Silly Sewing
Class for ages 8 to Adult begins Jan. 25, 2016.
Learn everything from sewing on a button to minor alterations. Pattern reading & machine sewing included as well.
4:30-5:30: Ages 8-10 – Fee $40/month
5:45-6:45: Ages 11-13 – Fee $40/month
6:45-8:30: Ages 14-Adult – Fee $60/month
Fee includes a complete sewing kit, patterns, some notions, some fabric, clothing to practice alterations. Bring your own machine. Limited machine rental available for $8/month. Classes limited to 10 students. Instructor: Anna Pfeil and guests.
