Here’s a list of local summer camp offerings – these are arranged by ages, starting with the camps that cater to the youngest, and going all the way to high school age career-focused camps (scroll to the bottom). ToddLearn Summer Camps
Ages 2-5 (Going into kindergarten)
Days/Times: Mon-Thurs from 9 am - 12 noon with free-play on Friday.
Cost: $85/week with $25 registration fee. Siblings receive a $10 discount off of their camp.

Toddlearn's Summer Camp drop-off program is a fun learning environment for small children. Each week will include activities & art projects based on the theme. The maximum amount of children per camp day will be 10.

Lovin' Louisiana Summer Art Camp! Fun and exciting lessons, activities and crafts that revolve around Louisiana's endless and colorful offerings. Activities will include 'City of New Orleans' wagon trains, pirogue 'races', food prep, oyster and crab shell art, lessons on habitats, animals, music and crops of Louisiana. Laissez les bon temps rouler!

2014 Imagine! Summer Camp offers a myriad of art activities, mediums, and techniques including: acrylic, watercolor, oil and chalk pastels, collage materials and more. Children will learn about famous artists and masterpieces in an engaging, child friendly way that utilizes daily themes. Each week is a different theme. Campers should bring a bag lunch and dress in clothes that can get messy!

Camp Kateri is a week-long day and overnight summer camp at Rosaryville Spirit Life Center located in Ponchatoula. Camp Kateri provides a summer camp program of recreation, adventure, creativity and fun, including horseback riding, cooking, swimming, camp fires, canoeing and more.
The Rosaryville grounds are fully equipped with over 500 acres, a junior Olympic-size swimming pool, a 2-acre fishing pond, stables, gymnasium, nature trails and more. Camp is filled with fun and challenging activities geared towards developing mind, body and spirit.
The camp emphasizes a friendly and positive environment. The goal is to encourage kids to explore nature, experience new things, create friendships and have FUN!!

Camp Kateri's Beginning Experience Camp
A camp experience for youth that have experienced a loss of a parent through death or a change in their parental relationship through divorce or separation. Beginning Experience will come in for three days for those who have experienced loss in their lives. In the next three days, Kateri staff will host some fun activities. Summer Camp at North Cypress Fitness Center
Ages:5-12 (child must have finished kindergarten)
Days/Times: Monday - Friday. 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Cost: $149/week. Before/after care available for extra $50/week.

Swimming, Youth Fitness Classes, Karate, Movies, Dancing, Tennis, Field Trips, Basketball, Friday Pizza Days, Playground, Professional Tennis Courts, Outdoor Basketball, Resort style swimming pool, 3 fitness studios. Your child will have a blast going on field trips, swimming, staying active with fun games, fitness classes, tennis, basketball, and much more.
Field Trips: Campers will enjoy weekly field trips to places such as Kliebert’s Alligator Farm, Safari Quest, Global Wildlife, Spirit Professionals, AMC Theaters, Sweetwater campground, as well as having specials guests such as the “Red Barn” and the “Discovery Dome” here at the club. During those weeks that transportation is required, there will be an additional bus fee.
Snacks are provided. Campers will have option to bring their own lunch or purchase a weekly Lunch Program for $25 per week.
SLU Camp Rec 2014
Days/Times: 8 am - 4 pm (before/after care available) from May 27 to August 8
Cost: $135/week ($10 sibling discount) with registration fee of $40/family. Early drop off at 7 a.m. is free. Late pickup, from 4 - 5:45 p.m. is $35 per camper for the week.

Hosted by Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of Recreational Sports and Wellness and offered for 10 weeks this summer.This camp is an option for parents who want their children to have fun and physically active days while developing social skills, confidence and independence.
Starting May 27 and ending August 8, each week has a theme and that activities include outdoor adventures, field day games, arts and crafts, health and fitness talks, relay races, a talent show, swimming, and field trips.
Cost includes breakfast, lunch, and snacks each day, as well as a Camp Rec t-shirt.
SLU Children's Art Workshop

Students will create a variety of artwork using different media based on the theme “Animals!” Students will model with Crayola’s Model Magic, create mixed media collages, create their own stencils, paint painting, and make nature prints. Children 10-14 years of age will complete two fabric art projects.
Children enrolled in the workshop will be instructed by art students who will be supervised by Dr. Kim Finley-Stansbury. Enrollment will be limited to 75 students in each session.
Amite Arts Council Visual Art Camp & Drama Camp
The Amite Arts Council is sponsoring two summer art camps for local children.
Visual Art Camp

Camp taught by artist and book illustrator Marita Gentry. There will be a public art show of the students’ work Friday, June 13. Ms. Gentry has been an artist, teacher designer and illustrator for over 25 years. She has illustrated several children’s books with award winning storyteller, Dianne de Las Casas. Her website is www.maritagentry.com. Camp open to 20 students.
The Drama Camp will be taught by Covington High School Talented Theatre teacher Gary Mendoza. Gary holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of New Orleans. He has acted, directed and done stage technician work for several area educational, community and professional theatres on the Northshore and in New Orleans. He has also helped coach students to compete on the national level with Poetry Out Loud and the National Shakespeare Competition.
The camp will be limited to 15 students. The students will stage a play on Friday, July 11th.
