Fall is finally here – it’s my favorite time of year! I made it through the Louisiana summer and it’s time for the fall and winter holiday season. Every year my family visits a local pumpkin patch. Below are some options for you and your family. Comment on this post if you have one to add.
'Pumpkins With a Purpose' - Hammond and Ponchatoula
All Saints Episcopal Church in Ponchatoula and Grace Episcopal Church in Hammond have pumpkins for sale ($1 and up, depending on size). This is a community fund-raiser for the Renew Family Center which benefits local families. Both locations are beautiful and great for picture-taking!
The sale will begin the second week of October and lasts until Oct. 31 (or supply runs out).
Ponchatoula Location: All Saints Episcopal Church, 250 West Hickory Street, Ponchatoula, LA 70454
Hours: 3 pm - 6 pm Monday through Friday, 11 am - 2 pm Saturday and Sunday.
Hammond Location: Grace Episcopal Church, 100 W. Church St., Hammond, LA 70401
Hours: 2:30 pm - 5 pm Monday through Friday, 10 am - 4 pm on Saturday and 12 pm - 4 pm on Sunday.
Mrs. Heather's Pumpkin Patch - Hammond
You may know Mrs. Heather from her Strawberry Patch! Different Farm and location, but same Mrs. Heather!
Location: 11215 Lees Lane, Hammond, LA 70401
Open: Now open Mon-Fri from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sat-Sun from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. OPEN everyday through November 8, 2015.
Cost: $7 per child from newborn to age 16, which includes a pumpkin and all activities, including: Zip line, Jumping Pillow, Tunnel Slide, Face Painting, Duck Racing, Pedal Tractors, Hay Maze, Milk a Cow, Roll Down the Hill, Paint a pumpkin (weekends only), and more. Free for adults.
Liuzza Land - Amite
Location: 56457 Holden Circle , Amite, LA 70422
Open to Public: Every Saturday in October from 12 pm - 4 pm.
Cost: $8 per child (includes choice of pumpkin). Adults are $5 each.
Activities include: Enjoy pumpkin picking, pumpkin painting, wagon rides, petting zoo, pony rides, tunnel slides, and more!
Steele's Pumpkin Patch & Fall Festival - Washington Parish
Location:56459 Dollar Road in Angie, Louisiana, 70426. (1 1/2 hours from Hammond)
Open to the Public: Now open weekends until November 1, 2015. Saturdays: 10 am - 6 pm and Sundays 1 pm - 5 pm.
Cost: $8.50/person. Children under 2 are free. Military is $5 with ID.
Over 30 Activities, Including: Tractor Drawn Hayride, Pumpkin Patch, Petting Zoo, Zip Line, The Moo Moo Choo Choo (Six wagons painted to look like cows), Hay barn, Tarzan Ropes, Duck Races, Tunnel Slide, and many more activities (check out their website!). Looks like a great time!
Pumpkin Patch at City park in New Orleans
Location: New Orleans City Park, 1 Palm Drive New Orleans, LA 70124. Patch is at Big Lake next to the Wheel Fun Rentals Boathouse
Event dates: October 3 through October 25: 7 days a week, 10:00am - Sunset
Cost: Kids are $6 and includes unlimited use of inflatables, games, access to picture taking area (bring own camera), and one small pumpkin. Add $2 for hay ride. Adults are $5 and also includes a pumpkin. Under 3 are free.
Activities include: pick out the perfect pumpkin, play games, take a hay ride, and end the day with a sweet snack! See the bottom of this page for a list of activities.

Cost: Ages 12 and up : $11, Ages 4-11: $9, Under 3: Free.
Activities include: Cow train, corn launchers, duck and pig race, pumpkin blaster, jumping pillow, zombie paintball. Extra cost for some activities, including nighttime haunted trail.
