Heidi Easley of Ponchatoula is a wife, mother, teacher of 10 years, and now add to that list: author! Heidi’s first book The Day My Class Broke All the Rules is now available in local stores and from the author. Books will also be available at a special book signing event on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 6-8 pm at La Carretta Ponchatoula. See below for a chance to win a copy!
As an early childhood teacher, you can naturally assume Heidi has many stories to tell! “Over my years of teaching young children, I often had to step back and laugh at the funny yet mischievous things my students did,” she explains. She often found herself saying, “I could write a book about this.”
Over the years, Heidi wrote down funny or memorable instances and kept a journal of ideas. Soon, she knew she had to turn all her inspiration into a book so she could share the heartwarming laughs with other families and teachers!
The Day My Class Broke All the Rules is that book, filled with the fun that came from a decade of experience teaching young kids!
“The most enjoyable part of this process was seeing my story come to life through the illustrations!” says Heidi. “I worked with a great illustrator that listened to every detail that I wanted for the book.”
