Boo at the Zoo in New Orleans

Dates: October 16, 17, 23, 24, 2015
Times: 5 pm - 9 pm
Location: Audubon Zoo in New Orleans
Cost: $17 per person (under 12 months of age free)

This annual  extravaganza is a safe, fun-filled Halloween event for children up to age 12, featuring trick-or-treat houses with candy, Ghost Train (which can be scary for children and adults), a haunted house (scary and non-scary), games, entertainment and more. All games and treats, except concessions, are free with admission.

Friday, October 16 is MARVEL Super-Hero Night! Meet the HULK, CAPTAIN AMERICA AND IRON MAN

Boo at the Zoo in Baton Rouge

The Zoo invites you to join us for Boo at the Zoo, a merry-not-scary trick-or-treating extravaganza. Wear your best costumes and visit the Zoo. Children can visit treat stations throughout the Zoo, make a memory at the Safari Snapshot photo booth, and wander through the merry-not-scary Hay Maze.

Monster Mash Fun Fall Family Festival in Covington

Date: Saturday, October 17, 2015 (Rain or shine)
Time: 10 am - 3 pm
Location: Bogue Falaya Park, 213 Park Dr., Covington, LA
  • Advance tickets $15 per child, $5 adult
  • At the gate: $20 per child, $10 adult
  • Children 11 months and younger are free
All games, activities and entertainment with the exception of concessions are included with your admission.
Monster Mash allows families and children of all ages a wholesome day of fun and a safe alternative to trick-or-treating. This fundraiser is a large family-style festival. Enjoy a Trick-or-Treat Village, entertainers, games, arts & crafts, inflatables and much more. Don't forget to wear your costume!
Local area restaurants and vendors will have refreshments, snacks and treats for purchase. This is an annual fund-raising event for the St. Tammany Parish Hospital Parenting Center.

Ghosts in the Oaks in New Orleans

Dates: Friday, October 23; Saturday, October 24; and Sunday, October 25, 2015
Location: Amusement Park and Storyland at City Park (7 Victory Ave., New Orleans, LA)
Admission & Times:

  • Oct. 23 - 24: 7 - 10 pm: General Admission is $15 per person / 6 pm Early Admission is $20 per person
  • Oct. 25: 5 - 8 pm: General Admission is $15 per person /  4 pm Early Admission is $20 per person
  • Children 2 and under are free

This spook-tacular two-night Halloween fundraising event hosted by the Friends of City Park offers non-scary fun for the whole family, including unlimited rides in Carousel Gardens, trick-or-treating in Storyland, arts and crafts, a pumpkin patch, airbrush tattoos, balloon animals, music and more! All proceeds from Ghosts in the Oaks go toward capital improvements in Carousel Gardens and Storyland.

HOWL-O-WEEN Dog Day in Hammond

Date: Saturday, October 24, 2015
Time: 10 am - 2 pm
Location: Lee Field across from SLU University Center on University Drive in Hammond
Cost: $5 entry donation. Kids under 5 free. All profits donated to Tangi Humane Society,

Bring your family and your pooch for a day of fun sponsored by Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. There will be face painting, festival games, dog adoptions, and free dog wash.

  • 11:00 am - Puppy Pie Eating Contest
  • 12:00 pm - Costume, Fetching, and Trick contests

All dogs MUST be kept on a leash. No aggressive or uncontrollable dogs will be allowed.

BOO Fest in Covington

Date: Saturday, October 24, 2015
Time: 10 am - 3 pm (Families with children with special needs may enter the event at 9:30 am)
Location: Lakeview Regional Medical Center, 65 Judge Tanner Blvd., Covington, LA
Admission: $2 each person

Enjoy more than 60 trick or treat houses and castles, which are wheelchair accessible.
Lots of complimentary activities, including pumpkin decorating, face painting, all-abilities games, music and dancing, a photo booth and more.
Kids are encouraged to wear costumes and take part in the contest for the title of 'Scariest,' 'Most Original,' 'Crowd Favorite,' and 'Best Group.'

Trickin' and Treatin' in Covington

Madisonville Trunk or Treat

Date: Sunday, October 25, 2015
Time: 5 - 7 pm
Location: Madisonville Ball Field on Pine Street
Cost: Free

Come dressed in family friendly costumes - no scary costumes please!
Trick or treat and play games from trunk to trunk. Then play in the bounce house and the inflatable slide. There will also be free hot dogs, nachos, and popcorn.

Haints, Haunts & Halloween in Baton Rouge

Date: Sunday, October 25, 2015
Time: 3:30 pm - 6 pm
Location: LSU Rural Life Museum, 4600 Essen Lane, Baton Rouge, LA

Recommended for kids ages 2 - 9

Come enjoy the activities of an old fashioned country fair. There will be storytelling, games, cake walks, pumpkin decorating and trick or treating.

Scream at the Square in Hammond

Join the merchants at Hammond Square Mall for trick or treating down the Main Street of the Mall.

Pumpkins in the Park in Covington

Date: Saturday, October 31, 2015
Time: 11 am - 2 pm
Location: Terra Bella Village, 111 Terra Bella Blvd., Covington, LA
Free admission. Please bring a non-perishable food item to donate.
This fun event features pumpkins, pumpkin painting, face painting, hayride, crafts, jump houses, light refreshments and more.

Night Corn Maze in Baton Rouge

Date: Saturday, October 31, 2015
Time: 10 am - 9 pm
Location:  Burden Center, 4560 Essen Lane, Baton Rouge, LA
Admission: $10 (ages 3 and under are free)

  • From 1 - 7 pm: Kids in costume can trick or treat.
  • From 7 - 9 pm: There will be a bonfire.

Enjoy the corn maze and haystack mountain. Take a hayride, then try your skill at the giant sling shots. Enjoy an evening bonfire, corn dogs, s'mores and live music. Remember to wear your costume.

Trunk or Treat in Ponchatoula

Date: Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015
Time: Normal trick or treat times (Will be announced)
Location: Memorial Park in Ponchatoula
Cost: Free 

This annual event is held on Halloween night from 5 - 8 pm at Memorial Park in Ponchatoula (also know as Strawberry Festival Park). Decorated cars surround the park for trick-or-treating fun! The Ponchatoula Jaycees host this fun, family oriented event with candy, kid's costume contest,  best decorated vehicle contest, and Trunk or Treating around the park. 

You can also bring your vehicle decorated and candy to hand out!

Trick-or-Treat Village at the Holy Ghost Fair

Date: Saturday, Oct 31 from 5:30-7:30 pm
Location: Holy Ghost Catholic School (507 N. Oak Street, Hammond, LA 70401)
Cost: $3 donation

During the annual Holy Ghost Fair, there will be a “Halloween Trick-or-Treat Village”. This non-scary trick-or-treating event is perfect for little ones. Family-friendly costumes are encouraged.
