CHRISTMAS PARADES – 2015

Friday, December 11, 2015: Greensburg Christmas Parade
  • 6 pm Start Time
  • Parade begins at the Forest Festival Park

Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015: Folsom’s Horse & Wagon Christmas Parade

  • 12 noon Start Time
  • Theme is ‘Christmas in the Country’
  • Route: It will go all the way down Austin St. Up Canton, turning on Olive St. Then to Railroad Ave. taking a right on Rosa Cryer by Don Juans Mexican restaurant, cross Hwy. 25, continue up Rosa Cryer, go all the way around crossing Hwy 40, passing in front of First Baptist Church on Broadway St, all the way down again until reaching Austin St.!

Saturday, December 12, 2015: Village of Tangipahoa Christmas Parade

  • 12:00 noon Start Time
  • Parade begins at Fultz Ballpark and ends at City Hall

Monday, December 14, 2015: Albany Christmas Parade

  • Parade will begin and end at Albany High School

  • 6 pm
  • Parade begins at Roseland Elementary Montessori School and ends at the town’s post office.
Saturday, Dec. 19: Ponchatoula Christmas Parade
  • 5 pm Start Time
  • Route:  Starts at Memorial Park and travels east down HWY 22 (Pine Street) to end at Ponchatoula Junior High School.
  • Theme:  ”A Story Book Christmas”

Saturday, December 19, 2015: Loranger’s All Horse Christmas Parade

  • 1 pm
  • The parade will begin at the FFA Arena – 1/4 of a mile north of Loranger.

Sunday, December 20, 2015: Independence Christmas Parade

  • 5 pm Start Time
  • The parade will begin behind Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church and end at the police station.

CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES – 2015

Through Dec. 25: Hammond’s Zemurray Park Christmas Lights

  • Open nightly Dec. 4 – Dec. 25 from 6 – 9 pm
  • Zemurray Park, 400 S. Oak Street, Hammond
  • Cost: Free
  • Drive through or take a walk through the “Children’s Playland” light display.
  • The train will run for free on Fridays (Dec. 4, 11, and 18) from 6 – 9 pm; and on Saturdays and Sundays (Dec. 5, 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20) from 5 – 9 pm.

Fri-Sat, Dec 11-12, 2015:  Nutcracker Ballet presented by Hammond Ballet Company

  • Dec. 11  at 7:00 p.m.
  • Dec. 12 at 7:00 p.m.
  • Columbia Theatre at 220 East Thomas St. in Hammond
  • Ticket Prices: Loge $39; Orchestra/Balcony $25, Kids 12 and under $15
  • Local young dancers from the Hammond Ballet Company are led by featured professional ballet dancers from around the country.

Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015: Breakfast and a Movie with Santa and Santa Bear

  • The Event Center, 1904 Nashville Ave., Hammond LA
  • 10 am – 12 noon
  • The Event Center has partnered with Santa Bear this year. Make another child’s Christmas special - Admission is 1 new unwrapped toy per child.
  • Children will be able to take a picture with Santa (parents, bring your own camera) and also leave their letter for Santa. After, they will be able to enjoy a breakfast treat and a movie, drive-in style!

Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015: Chick Fil A’s Breakfast/Dinner With Santa Cow

  • Start off your Saturday with a little holiday fun with Santa Cow at the breakfast or dinner event. Enjoy pictures, crafts, fun and games.

Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015: Santa’s Workshop Holiday Gift Making Camp

  • 5:30-8:30 pm nightly
  • 47094 Randall Road in Hammond (off of Wardline Road, just west of I-55. Turn by Tangi Tourism building. Gates are a little over a mile on your right – located in the old rest area property)
  • Outdoor live “mega” nativity production - a FREE family-friendly event centered around the real reason for the season!
  • Travel back to biblical times to witness the Christmas story. Stroll through the streets of Bethlhem, then take a trailer ride with 20 minutes of theatrical scenes that tell the story of the birth of Jesus. Rides take place every 6 minutes. Free cookies and hot chocolate are provided next to a campfire at the end of the ride.

Dec. 19-23, 2015: Christmas Down on the Farm at Liuzza Land

  • Liuzza Land –  56188 Holden Circle in Amite

  • Admission: $10 per child ages 2 – 12; Adults are FREE
  • Enjoy Christmas on the Farm with a live nativity scene, petting zoo, pony rides, Christmas choir, crafts and sleigh rides.

Friday, Dec. 18, 2015 - Dinner with Santa at the Louisiana Children’s Discovery Center

  • 5:30-7:30 pm
  • Louisiana Children’s Discovery Center (113 N Cypress St, Hammond, Louisiana 70401)
  • Come enjoy a 25-minute Creole Christmas Dinner with Santa courtesy of First Guaranty Bank.
  • Cost is $2 for members and $7 for the general public.
  • The cost includes admission to the exhibit floor from 5:30-7:30 PM before and/or after your Supper with Santa.

Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015 - Christmas Vacation Bible School at St. Paul Lutheran 

  • St. Paul Lutheran Church, 707 W Dakota St., Hammond LA
  • 9 am – 12 pm
  • Ages: 3 years – 5th grade
  • Children can enjoy a one day Vacation Bible School. The participants will be grouped by age and will enjoy crafts, singing, and stories. The focus will be on the real meaning of Christmas.

December 19, 2015 - Santa Breakfast at Le Fleur De Lis

  • Le Fleur De Lis Ballroom and Banquet Venue: 111 N. 6th Street, Ponchatoula LA
  • Times: 8:00 am, 9:30 am, and 11:00 am
  • Price: Adults $25.95, Child $14.95, under 2 free
  • Enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet with Santa. The buffet includes eggs, grits, bacon, sausage, gravy, French toast, pancakes and biscuits.
  • Enjoy Santa’s little farm animals, cookie making, face painting and story time with Santa’s elf.
