Air Force Academy Band to perform FREE concert at Columbia Theatre

The Air Force Academy Band’s Blue Steel will perform a FREE concert at the Columbia Theatre in Hammond on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 7 pm.  Tickets available at the Columbia box office and online at www.columbiatheatre.org. The event is sponsored by the Hammond Daily Star.

From The Daily Star: The evening will feature music for all ages spanning the last 60 years of popular music and even original repertoire. The concert will honor our military veterans and highlight the sacrifices made by our men and women in uniform. Also, the concert will be an opportunity to find out about the United States Air Force Academy, a top college in the country and cornerstone to our countries values and character.

Blue Steel is the commercial, popular music ensemble of the United States Air Force Academy Band. These full time, active duty bandsmen are committed to enhancing community relations, supporting the recruiting mission of the United States Air Force Academy and instilling the Air Force core values of Integrity, Service and Excellence in our nation’s youth. Blue Steel’s mission also includes deployment, military support and troop morale. The group performs high energy music from a variety of genres, and their versatility and dynamic stage presence enables them to tell the Air Force story to audience members of all ages.
