KidCam Summer Camps

Ages: 3-13
Days/Times: Monday through Friday, 9 am to 3 pm (before and after care available as early as 7 am/6 pm) from May 30 – Aug. 4, 2017. Part time options (3 days a week) also available.
Cost: $125 week with $50 registration fee

Kidcam is a summer camp program with locations all over Louisiana. Our local Kidcam Summer Camp is partnering with Chappapeela Sports Park this year. This new opportunity will give campers ages 3-13 access to more large indoor space, better green space, sports fields, 3 playgrounds and an onsite Splash Pad, while still being able to offer the great Kidcam program and summer curriculum.

Campers ages 3-13 will enjoy the same 43-year Kidcam programming & staff and committment to summer excellence as all of Kidcam’s 23 summer camp locations. Weekly field trips & swimming (ages 5+) and a curriculum built around Wacky & Wild art, science and games will help make up the perfect Kidcam summer.

SLU Rec Kids Camp

Ages: 5-12
Days/Times: 9 am - 4 pm (before/after care available) from May 29 to Aug. 4 
Cost: $145/week with registration fee of $25/child or $50/family. Early drop off for extra $15/week starts at 7 am. Late pickup is extra $15/week from 4 - 5:45 pm.

Hosted by Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of Recreational Sports and Wellness and offered for 10 weeks this summer.This camp is an option for parents who want their children to have fun and physically active days while developing social skills, confidence and independence.

Each week has a theme and that activities include outdoor adventures, field day games, arts and crafts, health and fitness talks, relay races, a talent show, swimming, and field trips.

Cost includes breakfast, lunch, and snacks each day, as well as a Camp Rec t-shirt. Campers may bring their own lunch or pay $25 for lunch for the week.

Summer Camp at North Cypress Fitness Center

Ages:5-13 (child must have finished kindergarten)
Days/Times: Monday - Friday from 9 am - 4 pm from May 29 - Aug. 11
Cost: $149/week ($129/week for NCFC members). Before/after care available for extra $35/week ($25 for members). Registration fee is $50 per child and $25 for each additional sibling

Campers will enjoy swimming, youth fitness classes, karate, movies, dancing, tennis, basketball, and  more; as well as weekly field trips to places such as Kliebert’s Alligator Farm, Safari Quest, Global Wildlife, Cypress Pointe Gymnastics, etc. 

Snacks are provided. Campers will have option to bring their own lunch or purchase a weekly Lunch Program for $25 per week. T-shirt included.

Luizza Land Summer Camps

Ages: 5-12

Days/Times: Monday-Friday from 9 am - 4 pm; 2 sessions: June 5 - 9 or June 26 - 30. Early drop off (7:30 am) and late pick up (5:30 pm) are available.

Camp Kateri

Ages: 7-13
Days/Times: Day and overnight campers at two sessions: June 12 - 17 and July 17 - 22

Camp Kateri is a week-long day and overnight summer camp at Rosaryville Spirit Life Center located in Ponchatoula. Camp Kateri provides a summer camp program of recreation, adventure, creativity and fun, including horseback riding, cooking,  swimming, camp fires, canoeing and more. 
The Rosaryville grounds are fully equipped with over 500 acres, a junior Olympic-size swimming pool, a 2-acre fishing pond, stables, gymnasium, nature trails and more. Camp is filled with fun and challenging activities geared towards developing mind, body and spirit.

Spoga Fitness Summer Camp

Ages: 4-14
Days/Times: 9 am to 4 pm weekly (before and after care available) from June 5 to July 28. 
Location: Spoga Fitness Studio, 811 CM Fagan Dr., Hammond, LA. Pick up from Oak Knoll Country Club in Hammond.
Cost: $159 per session ($139 for members). $25 discount for siblings. Healthy snacks and lunch available for additional $30.

Every day is an artistic adventure at the Big Red Barn's Imagine! Summer Camp. Kids create artwork inspired by literature, animals, far away places, people, and the fun stuff of life.We learn about masterpieces, famous artists, styles of art, and how to find inspiration in everything. The camp  offers a myriad of art activities, mediums, and techniques including: acrylic, watercolor, oil and chalk pastels, collage materials and more. Each week is a different theme. Campers should bring a bag lunch and dress in clothes that can get messy!

First Christian Church Sewing Camp

Amite City Arts Council Theatre Camp

Ages: 8-13
Cost: $5 registration fee

Location: Amite City Community Center

Participants will create and perform a series of their very own fractured fairy tales. The fun-filled week will consist of theatre games and activities that foster ensemble building skills, develop focus, strengthen imagination and visualization, and develop acting and performing skills. Painting with a Twist Art Camps

Summer Camp at Painting with a Twist is going to be Totally Twisted with different and fun themes matched to painting choices that will stretch your child’s imagination and challenge their artistic skills! Every week is different and could include teaching new techniques, figuring out color schemes, using recycled paint to create texture, etc.! Themed weeks include: animation, pop art, free flow with complimentary colors, recycling, ombre’, splatter paint, earth, space and nature.

The Kay Butler Performing Arts Project is a education based performing arts organization. It is inspired by the works of Kay Butler, and carried on by those who have benefited from the positive ways she has influenced them as a teacher, director or mentor. The purpose of drama camp workshop is to inspire and teach through collective creativeness. Every student is important and involved. Students will learn acting techniques, stage directions, choreography, music and singing at an appropriate individual level for each student to grow as a performer. Students will bring to life scenes from words off of a page, as well as study the art of improvisation.
