Saturday, Dec 2, 2017: Hammond Christmas Parade
  • 5 pm start time
  • Theme: “Oh Cypress Tree”
  • Parade Route
  • Check out “The Zone” – a fun and safe place for families to enjoy the Christmas Parade, held on Gen. Pershing and W. Dakota St., north of the baseball field from 3:30-5:30 pm. Free activities for children. Children under 17 must be accompanied by an adult. No pets, no alcohol. Bring lawn chairs.

Through Dec. 25: Hammond’s Zemurray Park Christmas Lights

  • Open nightly Dec. 1 – Dec. 25
  • Zemurray Park, 400 S. Oak Street, Hammond
  • Cost: Free
  • Drive through or take a walk through the “Children’s Playland” light display.
  • The train will run for free on Fridays from 6 – 9 pm; and on Saturdays and Sundays from 5 – 9 pm. The last day for the train is December 23.

Friday, Dec. 1, 2017: Ponchatoula Annual Christmas Lighting/Sitting with Santa

  • Downtown Ponchatoula
  • 6 pm – 8 pm
  • Come stroll the streets of Ponchatoula and enjoy shopping in a variety of shops while listening to local choirs and bands.
  • Visit with Santa on the steps of the Collinswood Museum. Watch the lighting of the official tree at 6 by the information booth on NW Railroad Ave. and Pine.

Dec. 1-3; 8-10; 15-17; 22; and 29, 2017: Christmas Down on the Farm at Liuzza Land

  • Liuzza Land –  56188 Holden Circle in Amite
  • Come down to Liuzza Land to enjoy Christmas activites from 5 pm- 9 pm every Friday, Saturday, & Sunday in December.
  • FRIDAYS — Drive Thru Christmas Lights. Cost: $10/car
  • SATURDAYS — NEW Horse Drawn Christmas! Cost: $1o per adult age 13+ / $7 per child / Children 2 and under free
  • SUNDAYS — Walk through the light displays, interact with all farm animals, and have a joyful time! $10 per child; $5 per adult age 13+ / Children 2 and under free

Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017: Merry Madisonville

  • 4:00: Santa’s workshop opens with cookie decorating, caroling, letters to Santa
  • 4:30 Santa arrives from the North Pole by boat near Town Hall
  • 5:00:  Lighting of the Christmas Tree
  • 5:30: Pictures with Santa (bring your own camera)
  • 6:30: Glowstick walk to Pine Street for movie (glowsticks provided)

Saturday, Dec 2, 2017: Fellom Ballet Presents “The Nutcracker” to Benefit the Tangi Food Pantry

  • 3 pm at the St. Albert Catholic Student Center, 409 W Dakota St, Hammond, Louisiana 70401
  • More than 35 Fellom Ballet School intermediate and advanced dancers will bring the “Land of Sweets” to life in a “mini” traveling “Nutcracker” performance.
  • Admission for this public performance is one non-perishable “sweet” (cake, pie or cookie mixes) to benefit The Tangi Food Pantry.
  • Guests will be invited to decorate cookies and enjoy hot chocolate following the half-hour performance.

Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017: Reindeer Run for Restoration House 

  • Starts at 8:30 am
  • Memorial Park in Ponchatoula
  • This is a family-oriented and Christmas themed race. All proceeds benefit Restoration Pregnancy Resource Center of Hammond.  The race features medals and t-shirts for participants, and lots of fun Christmas surprises! There will be a 1 mile fun run/walk and a 5K

Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017: Teddy Bear Tea

  • All Saints Episcopal Church in Ponchatoula (250 N Hickory)
  • 2 pm
  • COST: $5 donation at the door
  • Children of all age and their parents/grandparents are invited to enjoy this teddy bear tea with games and stories.

 Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017: Hammond Ballet Nutcracker Tea

  • 2 - 4 pm at Le Fleur de Lis in Ponchatoula
  • Advance Tickets Required ($30 per person)
  • Enjoy a delightful tea with Clara and the Nutcracker characters. Enjoy performances from the ballet and bring your camera for pictures with the Sugarplum Fairy and her Nutcracker friends.

Sunday, Dec. 3 and Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017: Zoo 2 U Petting Zoo Christmas Extravaganza

  • 82089 Hwy. 25, Folsom LA
  • 11 am – 4 pm
  • Admission: Adults $15, Children $20
  • Visit Santa’s reindeer Comet and Cupid in Folsom! Take pictures with Santa and his reindeer, play reindeer games and even make your own reindeer food. Visit with Hump-D the Christmas Camel and enjoy all of the animals on the farm. The Petting Zoo features goats, a lamb, chickens, a large land tortoise, a pig, and bunnies. Snacks and hot chocolate are available for purchase. Don’t forget to bring your camera.

Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017: Pancakes with Santa (Ponchatoula Kiwanis) 

  • The Ponchatoula Kiwanis Club is hosting their annual pancake breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 3, starting at 7 am at the Kiwanis Log Cabin in Ponchatoula.

  • Dec. 9  at 7:00 p.m.
  • Dec. 10 at 2:00 p.m.
  • Columbia Theatre at 220 East Thomas St. in Hammond

  • Local young dancers from the Hammond Ballet Company are led by featured professional ballet dancers from around the country.

Sat-Sun, Dec. 9-10 AND Dec. 16-17, 2017: One Night in Bethlehem

  • 5:30-8:30 pm nightly
  • 47094 Randall Road in Hammond (off of Wardline Road, just west of I-55. Turn by Tangi Tourism building. Gates are a little over a mile on your right – located in the old rest area property)
  • Outdoor live “mega” nativity production - a FREE family-friendly event centered around the real reason for the season!
  • Travel back to biblical times to witness the Christmas story. Stroll through the streets of Bethlehem, then take a trailer ride with 20 minutes of theatrical scenes that tell the story of the birth of Jesus. Rides take place every 6 minutes.

  • Admission: $8 – must purchase ticket in advance
  • Ages 3 – 10
  • Kids will be able to build their own Santa, Snowman or Reindeer pancake at the cooking class. Santa will be at the store for pictures.
