Traditional

KidCam Summer Camps

Ages: 3-13

Kidcam is a summer camp program with locations all over Louisiana. Kidcam’s engaging weekly themes are action-packed with activities that promote fun, fitness, friendship, and creativity each week of camp. Join KIDCAM for a summer of thrills, suspense and amazing adventures. This summer, camp will be swarming with young “operatives” as we delve into the secret world of spycraft. Each week, Commander M will drop off a case file with a new code word for our recruits to explore. In order to conduct their mission campers will enjoy themed challenges, games, activities, technology, food, crafts, music and movies. This exciting program will teach teamwork, reasoning, agility, and resourcefulness while delivering a summer of top secret fun. Campers aged 5-13 will attend off-campus field trips each week on a licensed bus. The 3-4 year old campers follow a separate schedule of on-campus activities.

SLU Rec Sports Camp

Ages: 5-12
Days/Times: 9 am - 4 pm (before/after care available) from May 23 to July 29
Cost: $145/week with registration fee of $25/child or $50/family. Early drop off for extra $15/week starts at 7 am. Late pickup is extra $15/week from 4 - 5:45 pm.

Hosted by Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of Recreational Sports and Wellness and offered for 10 weeks this summer.This camp is an option for parents who want their children to have fun and physically active days while developing social skills, confidence and independence.

Each week has a theme and that activities include outdoor adventures, field day games, arts and crafts, health and fitness talks, relay races, a talent show, swimming, and field trips.

Cost includes breakfast, lunch, and snacks each day, as well as a Camp Rec t-shirt. Campers may bring their own lunch or pay $25 for lunch for the week.

Hammond Rec Dept Summer Camp

Ages 5-12
Days/Times: Monday-Friday from 8 am - 4 pm from June 1 - July 24.
Cost: $100 for two weeks; $150 for one month; $300 for full month. Extended hours starting at 7:30 am and ending at 5 pm available for $20/week or $5/day. Financial assistance programs available.

Core Components of the program:
History & Art Program: Campers will have the opportunity to develop their artistic talent with a hands on program offered to enhance their abilities. The students will engage in visual as well as performing arts activities and get a chance to show their skills in the summer camp talent show and Veterans Programs.
Adventure & Fitness Programs: Adventure consists of outdoor programs such as fishing, swimming, hiking, canoeing, geocaching and scavenger hunts. Campers will also learn about nature and fitness.
There will also be field trips scheduled throughout the weeks to venues such as Global Wildlife and the WWII Museum.

Summer Camp at North Cypress Fitness Center

Ages:5-13 (child must have finished kindergarten)

Campers will enjoy swimming, youth fitness classes, karate, movies, dancing, tennis, basketball, and  more; as well as weekly field trips to places such as Kliebert’s Alligator Farm, Safari Quest, Global Wildlife, Cypress Pointe Gymnastics, etc. 

Snacks are provided. Campers will have option to bring their own lunch or purchase a weekly Lunch Program for $25 per week. T-shirt included.

Luizza Land Summer Camps

Ages: 6-12
Days/Times: Monday-Friday from 9 am - 4 pm; 6 sessions from May 30 - July 1. Early drop off (7:30 am) and late pick up (5:30 pm) are available.

Camp Kateri

Camp Kateri is a week-long day and overnight summer camp at Rosaryville Spirit Life Center located in Ponchatoula. Camp Kateri provides a summer camp program of recreation, adventure, creativity and fun, including horseback riding, cooking,  swimming, camp fires, canoeing and more. 

Session 1: June 12 - 17

Session 2: July 17 - 22

The Rosaryville grounds are fully equipped with over 500 acres, a junior Olympic-size swimming pool, a 2-acre fishing pond, stables, gymnasium, nature trails and more. Camp is filled with fun and challenging activities geared towards developing mind, body and spirit.

The camp emphasizes a friendly and positive environment. The goal is to encourage kids to explore nature, experience new things, create friendships and have FUN!

Spoga Fitness Summer Camp

Ages: 7-13
Days/Times: June 6-10 and June 20-24 and July 11-15 from 9 am to 3 pm (before  and after care available) 
Location: Spoga Fitness Studio, 811 CM Fagan Dr., Hammond, LA. Pick up from Oak Knoll Country Club in Hammond.
Cost: $239 per session - includes healthy snacks and shirt. $20 discount for siblings.

Children will be supervised by the Spoga Team through each activity and will be transported to Oak Knoll on a bus.

Activities will include exercise, golf, swimming, tennis, archery and more.
9:00 - 11:00 am campers will be at Spoga participating in age appropriate workouts, coordination, and strength training, basketball games and other activities.
11:00 am - 3:00 pm campers will be at Oak Knoll Country Club where they will enjoy a picnic lunch, golf lessons, swim lessons, tennis lessons, archery practice and free swim.

Fellom Ballet Fairy Tale Princess Ballet Camp

Fairy Tale Princess Ballet Camp is designed for petite ballerinas, ages 3-6.  Activities are designed to teach the basics of ballet and movement through creative play and storytelling. Little princesses will dance along with their favorite fairy tales and create related crafts. On the last day of camp, princesses will perform a special dance for their families. Recommended attire includes ballet slippers and comfortable clothing.

The Big Red Barn Imagine Summer Art Camp

Every day is an artistic adventure at the Big Red Barn's 8th Annual Imagine! Summer Camp. Kids create artwork inspired by literature, animals, far away places, people, and the fun stuff of life.We learn about masterpieces, famous artists, styles of art, and how to find inspiration in everything. The camp  offers a myriad of art activities, mediums, and techniques including: acrylic, watercolor, oil and chalk pastels, collage materials and more. Each week is a different theme. Campers should bring a bag lunch and dress in clothes that can get messy!

Two week day camp where youth will learn all aspects of staging a live production. Acting, costuming, set/scenery and makeup. This year’s play also includes shadow play, paper maiche, puppetry and GIANTS. The play being staged is Roald Dahl’s The BFG. Camp is limited to 25 students. Performances will be Friday and Saturday evening and a Saturday matinee.

Cost: Between $130 and $400 depending on length of the lesson and the qualifications of instructor.

Middle School Band Camp

The Bayou Builders FIRST Lego League team will be offering three different 2-day robotics recruitment camps this summer. The first camp will take place June 6-7 from 2-5 pm at the Louisiana Children's Discovery Center. 

The cost is $40 per child. Participants will be engaged in a variety of different robotics programming and team building challenges while also learning more about FIRST Lego League.

Non-profit 4-week camp that provides junior high and high school aged students an opportunity to get an early start towards a career in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and Aeronautics by offering 4 unique programs:

  1. Introduction to Radio Controlled Model Airplanes, Quad-copters, Helicopters, and Model Rockets. (Build and launch a model rocket)

  2. Intro to electronic components and circuit designs (Build a digital countdown clock circuit)

SLU Robotics Course

Students will advance their programming/constructing skills while learning about different types of motors and sensors. They will build different systems and finish it up with a rover that navigates its way through obstacles. The course is divided into sections that cover a sequence of skills that progressively increase in complexity.

SLU is proud to offer a series of exciting career workshops for junior high and high school students. In our hands-on courses, participants explore a career and gain knowledge of the competencies required to succeed in their field of interest. Workshops are hands-on, using the latest technology in our specialized labs to create an interactive experience.  We also incorporate a team component to simulate the dynamics of a real work environment.  Friends and family will be invited on the last day to view the new skills participants have acquired.

Camp is specially structured for the player that is looking to improve their game on both sides of the ball. In the morning the concentration will be on advancing each players baseball skills through repetition at each player’s specific position. In the afternoon  the younger players will be put through game situations while the older players will be put through simulated games that will be overseen by the way entire Lions coaching staff.

Each camper will receive a t-shirt and lunch will be provided for full day campers.

Hitting Camp

Ages: 6-17

This camp is great for learning and/or perfecting batting techniques. Campers will experience different drills to work on specific  elements that make up a fluid swing.

Infield Camp

This camp will improve a player’s comfort in the positions of first base, second base, third base and short stop.

The Ultimate Kid’s Sports Camp
Ages: 12 and under

This camp will help kids learn the rules of basic recreational games and to get them moving. They may play up to 4 different types of games in 1 day. Kid’s will be provided with lunch and a movie daily.
